Reaction paper

On October 26th, I attended the lecture of Nick Vedros. If you were unable to go, he is primarily a commercial photographer. Very interesting and a good sense of hummer. What I got the most from his lecture is the importance of marketing your self and setting a standard of pricing. We all can have talent in what ever field we pursue but we must credit ourselves monetarily to maintain the standard of our art . What he stressed was hard work and to stay true to yourself and to allow yourself the confidence to be your creative self. I felt the confidence he exuded in his lecture explaining his art work and how why he added or deleted certain things to his photos to give his own personal touch. He stressed setting up a good business ie- having an account lawyer if needed. But what struck me the most was the love and passion he has for his work and profession.

Just got back from Jim Lennon photography studio. He was very interesting and informative.I still haven't decided what field of photography I want to pursue. Each lecturer I attend seems to sway me in another direction. Plenty of time to decide.

Blog

Newsday had a photo contest which anyone could enter. They had over 3,000 participants.
They listed the winners along side of their photo's in last Saturday's issue Oct 3,2009. Some of them looked interesting and challenging and others ordinary. Next year I would like to enter.
